What's a simple method to find the cube root of a number ?
il63 [147K]
If you want to find out ..for example.. cube root of 8..just put it in the calculator!
Or you could power it by 1/3 ...which is the same thing as cube rooting it.
(Even though I need the calculator in both the cases..)

Hope this helps though :)

how do you find the perimeter and area of a rectangle with a base of 5 feet and a height of 30 inches?
poizon [28]

Answer:

P = 180 inches

A = 1800 square inches

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a rectangle is equal to P = 2b+2h where b=base and h=height. Here the base is 5 feet and the height is 30 inches. They are different measurements and must be in the same. Convert 5 ft into inches by multiplying 5*12 = 60 inches. Substitute b=60 and h=30.

P = 2*60 + 2*30

P = 120 + 60

P = 180 inches

The area of a rectangle is A = b*h. Substitute b=60 and h=30.

A= 60*30

A = 1800 square inches

A concrete patio is 5 2/3 feet wide. And has an area of 36 5/6 square feet. Is the concrete slab long enough to fit a 7 foot pic
matrenka [14]

No.

We know the width is not long enough to lay the picnic table across, as it is only 5 2/3 ft. wide. We can see if the other side is long enough by dividing the product of the two sides by the side we know.

36 5/6 divided by 5 2/3 = 6 1/2 ft. which is not long enough to house a 7 ft. long picnic table without going diagonal.
