the square root of 4,356 is an integer. without a calculator , determine what the integer is by eliminating possibilities.
Zanzabum
It's more than 3600, so its greater than 60.
it's less than 4900, so its less than 70.
a no.'s root can end with six if the no. ends with 4 or 6.
so the no is either 64 or 66.
Now if it's 66, the square must be greater than sq of 65.
65 sq= 4225
the given no. is greater than sq of 65.
Therefore the number is 66.

Create and solve equations, showing your work. You must create the equations and show the steps required to solve them.
jok3333 [9.3K]
One step equation, where only one step is required to solve the problem. Example:
20 = 5x
4 = x

Fractions:
1/2 + x = 3/2
x = 3/2 - 1/2
x = 1

Decimals:
0.5 + x = 1.5
x = 1.5 - 0.5
x = 1

Real world problem: (word problem and equation)
It costs $5 per hour to rent a canoe plus a $3 rental fee. How much will the total be if you plan on renting the canoe for 3 hours?
y = 5x + 3
y = total cost ; x = number of hours rented
y = 5×3 + 3
y = 15 + 3
y = $18

ANSWER

Q(5,-2),S(-3,4)

The given points have coordinates,

P(5,2) and R(-3,-4).

The mapping for a reflection across the x-axis is

(x,y)\to (x,-y)

This implies that,

P(5,2)\to Q( 5,-2)

and

R(-3,-4) \to  S(-3,4)

The correct choice is A.
