Answer:

8.94

Step-by-step explanation:

(-3, -9), (1, -1)

x1 = -3

x2 = 1

y1 = -9

y2 = -1

d = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}

d = \sqrt{(1 - (-3))^2 + (-1 - (-9))^2}

d = \sqrt{4^2 + 8^2}

d = \sqrt{16 + 64}

d = \sqrt{80}

d = \sqrt{16 \times 5}

d = 4\sqrt{5}

d = 8.94

Find a power series representation of e^x sin(x)
liberstina [14]
The Taylor series is defined by:
f(x) = \sum \frac{f^n (a)}{n!} (x-a)^n

Let a = 0.
Then its just a matter of finding derivatives and determining how many terms is needed for the series.

Derivatives can be found using product rule:
f^n (x) = e^x g^{n-1} (x) + e^x g^n (x)  \\ g^0 (x) = sin x

Do this successively to n = 6.
f^1 (x) = e^x (sinx +cos x) \\ f^2 (x) = e^x (2cos x)  \\ f^3 (x) = e^x(2cos x - 2sin x)  \\ f^4 (x) = e^x (-4 sin x)  \\ f^5 (x) = e^x(-4sinx -4cos x) \\ f^6(x) = e^x(-8cos x)

Plug in x=0 and sub into taylor series:
e^x  sin x = x+x^2 +\frac{x^3}{3} -\frac{x^5}{30}-\frac{x^6}{90}...

If more terms are needed simply continue the recursive derivative formula and add to taylor series.

In one town, 50% of all voters are democrats. if two voters are randomly selected for a survey, find the probability that the
maw [93]

Given :- 50% of all voters are democrats.

Probability that randomly selected voter will be a democrat = 0.50.

Independent event Property :- If two events A and B are independent on each other then P(A and B) = P(A) * P(B).

In this question, Vote of one person is independent on another person. Every individual's vote preference is independent.

The probability that they are both democrats

= P( first is democrat AND second is also a democrat)

=P(first is democrat) * P(second is also a democrat)

= 0.50 * 0.50 (Using above property of independent events)

= 0.25

Answer :- If two voters are randomly selected for a survey, Then the probability that they are both democrats is 0.25.
