Part 1: Answer the questions using the documents, the textbook, and online sources. World War II led to a renewed interest in in
iren2701 [21]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The reasons and historical events that led to the creation of the United Nations were the following.

The historical events can be traced back to the end of World War II, after the Allied forces defeated Germany, Japan, and Italy. The world witnessed too much suffering and destruction like never before seen. Even more, with the launching of the atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

There were some previous charters, treaties, and agreements that inspired the foundation of the United Nations. We are talking about the Declaration of St. James Palace of 1941, teh Atlantic Charter of 1941, the Yalta Conference of 1945, and in the same year, the San Francisco, California Conference in the United States. All these works served to establish the foundation of the United Nations on October 24, 1945.

The United Nations differed from the League of Nations in that teh League of Nations was the result of the agreement between the main European superpowers after World War I, without the participation of the United States. Meanwhile, the United Nations was the result of the idea of 50 nations during the conference of San Francisco, California. There was a plurality of ideas that enriched the agreements to create the United Nations. Another important aspect of the UN that did no have the League of Nations, was the capacity of the UN to come up with resolutions that could be enforced. And this was not the case of the League of Nations. Another important consideration is that the United Nations promotes peace around the world, supports the progress of societies in all nations, and invites for the respect of human rights.

When George H.W Bush became president, the US government was deep in debt. Bush was forced to
xenn [34]

Answer:

-Compromise with Congress.

Explanation:

When George H.W. Bush was running for office in 1988, he promised the American people not to raise taxes. After his election, the slowdown in economic growth and a Democratic majority in Congress forced Bush to compromise with it on a substantial increase in taxes. In 1990 he raised various taxes and broke his election promise. This caused great displeasure, especially among conservative Republicans who voted for him. Four years later, during the 1992 campaign for his re-election, both his competitor in the Republican primaries, Pat Buchanan, and his Democratic opponent, Bill Clinton, reminded him of this broken promise, which was in fact one of the causes why he lost against Clinton.

Question 10 (1 point)
Shalnov [3]
B) The allies were winning

The Zimmerman Telegram was a telegram from Germany to Mexico urging them to join Germany in ww1. In return, they promised that if they won, Germany would help Mexico regain territory that was captured by the U.S..This influenced U.S. entry into ww1 because the U.S. was very angry about Germany threatening to attempt to take land from the U.S.

The British were the U.S.’s closest trading partners, with Germany declaring war against all ships that entered British territory, that effected the U.S.’s ability to then trade with Britain

The Lusitania was a British luxury boat full of everyday civilians, including some Americans, when German submarines then bombed the boat, costing several of the lives aboard. This enraged the U.S. since not only were 1,195 civilians killed, but the methods enlisted by this German warfare method broke international naval protocol
