5(2x + 1) = 7x -41

You use the distributive property to solve this one by doing 5*2x and 5*1.

So then the result which would result to:

10x + 5 = 7x -41

(Then subtract 7x from each side and subtract 5 from each side too)

3x = -46

( Now you divide 3 by -46 to get x alone)

x= - 46/3

Then simplify:
x= -15 1/3

Hope this helps

I WILL GIVE BRAINLEST PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
Andru [333]

Answer: they are parallel so there is no solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

Brayden- y=5x-1 or y-5x= -1

Howard- y=5x+1 or y-5x= 1

Vincent- y=4x+5 or y-4x= 5

In summary, they are all parallel so there is no solution. or

5y - 1 = 5y + 1

(Braydon = Howard)

Hope this helps you :) pls BRAINLEST

If x is a number that is 7 more than y, how do you express x as a function of y?
k0ka [10]
I believe the correct answer from the choices listed above is option B. The variable y is the independent variable here and x is the dependent variable so the function can be represented as f(y). The function should be written as:

<span>x = f(y) = 7 + y</span>

2. The sum of the reciprocals of two consecutive positive integers is 17/72. Write an equation that can be used to find the two
Lena [83]
To answer this item, we let x be the first positive integer. Then, the second would be x+1. Their reciprocals would be 1/x and 1/(x+1). Then, the equation that would best represent the scenario above is,
                            1/x + 1/(x+1) = 17/72
Solving the equation above,
                           ((x+1) + x) / (x)(x+1) = 17/72
If we take the numerators of both sides of the equation,
                              (x+1) + x = 17
The value of x from the equation is 8 and x+1 would be 9. Thus, the answer would be 8 and 9.

Factorise the following:<br> x - 14x + 48
nadezda [96]

Answer:

I assume you mean x^2 - 14x + 48. To factor this you want to find a number that adds to -14 and multiplies to 48. That means it'll have to be two negative numbers.

-6*-8 = 48

-6 + (-8) = -14

Your factored expression is (x - 6)(x - 8)
