Ida needs to hire a singer for her wedding. Singer A is offering his services for an initial $80 in addition to $14.25 per hour.

Singer B is offering her services for an initial $92 in addition to $12.55 per hour. When will the two singers charge the same amount of money? If necessary, round your answer to the nearest tenth.

Singer A

80+14.25h

Singer B

92 +12.55 h

set them equal

80+14.25h= 92 +12.55 h

subtract 12.55h from each side

80 + 1.7 h = 92

subtract 80 from each side

1.7 h =12

divide by 1.7

h =7.0588

h = 7.1 hours

It would take them 7.1 hours to charge the same amount

The equation for Singer A is:

80x + 14.25

The equation for Singer B is:

92 + 12.55x

x would be the number of hours

To figure out when they would charge the the same amount, set them equal to each other:

80 + 14.25x = 92 + 12.55x

Subtract 80 to both sides because whatever you do on one side you have to do it on the other side

14.25x = 12 + 12.55x

Subtract 12.55x

1.7x = 12

Divide by 1.7

x = 7.0588

Which is also

x = 7.1 hours

William sold half of his comic books and then bought 14 more he now has 24 with how many did he have in the beginning
Lera25 [3.4K]
Let the number of comic books be X
if we add 14 to X = 24
so we will find the value of X to get half initial number of comic books William had.
14+X=24
X=24-14
X=10
so the total innitial number of comic books William had is 10+10=20 books.

Which expressions are equivalent to the one below? Check all that apply. 21^x/3^x
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

<em>options:  A,C,E </em>are correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to find the expression equivalent to the expression:

\dfrac{21^x}{3^x}

we know that: 21^x=(3\times7)^x\\\\21^x=3^x\times7^x

Hence,

\dfrac{21^x}{3^x}=\dfrac{3^x\times7^x}{3^x}=7^x-----(1)

A)   (\dfrac{21}{3})^x= 7^x  (same as(1))

Hence, option A is correct.

B)  7 ; which is a different expression from (1)

Option B is incorrect.

C) 7^x   (Same as (1))

Option C is correct.

D) (21-3)^x=18^x   which is a different expression from (1)

Hence, option D is incorrect.

E) \dfrac{7^x\times3^x}{3^x}=7^x   ; which is same as (1)

Hence, Option E is correct.

F) 3^x  ; which is not same as expression (1)

Hence, option F is incorrect.

Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer:

A point (a, b) rotated around a point (x, y) 180 degrees will transform to point (-(a - x) + x, -(b - y) + y). A point (a, b) rotated around the origin 270 degrees will transform to point (b - y + x, -(a - x) + y).
