Sara receives her cell phone bill on the first day of each month. This month, she exceeded her allowed number of minutes for the

month. Sara highlighted the 13 longest phone calls on her bill and wants to find the average number of minutes per call. Help Sara find the average of these 13 calls by applying the appropriate measure of central tendency. In the form of a paragraph, explain in complete sentences the measure of central tendency that you used to find the average. Explain the steps necessary to find the average, include the final answer and what the final answer means in terms of the data presented in the table. In a short answer, to find average you need to add it all up and divide by the number of things you added. Ex. say I want to find the average for my english class, my grades are 90, 98, 100, 87, and 70. I would start by adding them up  to get 445. then since i have 5 grades, i would divide the sum 445 by 5 and get an 89 as my average.

         (Everything in this answer is example only, not my real grades.)

ziro4ka [17]

Answer:

The range is [0,37.5]

Step-by-step explanation:

We start by writing the equation that links x and y

From the question;

y = 7.5x

Now, she has enough material to make 5 only

When we talk of range, we are referring to the values on the y-axis

So the lowest y value is 0

and since the highest number of bracelets is 5;

The total cost of the 5 is 7.5(5) = 37.5

So the range is [0,37.5]

A 20% solution of fertilizer is to be mixed with a 50% solution of fertilizer in order to get 180 gallons of a 40% solution. How
anyanavicka [17]

Answer: 60 gallons of the 20% solution and 120 gallons of the 50% solution should be mixed.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of gallons of 20% solution that should be mixed.

Let y represent the number of gallons of 50% solution that should be mixed.

A 20% solution of fertilizer is to be mixed with a 50% solution of fertilizer in order to get 180 gallons of a 40% solution. This means that

0.2x + 0.5y = 0.4×180

0.2x + 0.5y = 72- - - - - - - - - - - -1

Since the total number of gallons is 180, it means that

x + y = 180

Substituting x = 180 - y into equation 1, it becomes

0.2(180 - y) + 0.5y = 72

36 - 0.2y + 0.5y = 72

- 0.2y + 0.5y = 72 - 36

0.3y = 36

y = 36/0.3

y = 120

x = 180 - y = 180 - 120

x = 60

Jillian walked 0.5 miles before she started jogging at an average pace of 5 miles per hour. The equation d = 0.5 + 5t can be use
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer: independent variable: time (t). Dependent variable: distance (d).

Step-by-step explanation: an independent variable is a variable whose variation does not depend on that of another. In the given problem, the independent variable is time, because time will pass by no matter what (without depending in any other variable). The dependent variable in this case is the distance, because how far Jillian goes, depends on how much time she expends walking and jogging.
