A homeschooling program is very flexible, you choose your own pace and schedule. I personally study at home. My school is NDCDE. It's a great way to study at home, you even get an online teacher that grades your work and gives you helpful feedback. You also get an accredited diploma after you complete all your courses.

I hope this helps.

Gates Co. purchased machinery on January 2, 2005, for $440,000. The straight-line method is used and useful life is estimated to
Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

b. $34,500

Explanation:

For computing the depreciation expense for 2011, first we have to do the following calculations which are shown below:

Depreciation expense under Straight-line method would be

= (Purchase value of machinery - residual value) ÷ (estimated useful life)

= ($440,000 - $40,000) ÷ (10 years)

= $400,000 ÷ 10 years

= $40,000

From January 2, 2005 to the beginning of 2011, it have 6 years so the accumulated depreciation would be

= $40,000 × 6 years

= $240,000

And, the book value would be

= Purchase value of machinery - accumulated depreciation

= $440,000 - $240,000

= $200,000

Now the depreciation expense for 2011 would be

= (Book value + spent amount - salvage value) ÷ (remaining life)

= ($200,000 + $96,000 - $20,000) ÷ (8 years)

= $276,000 ÷ 8 years

= $34,500

Total years is 14 and the accumulated depreciation year is 6 years so , the remaining year would be 8 years

Jill Johnson owns a pizzeria. She currently produces 10,000 pizzas per month at a total cost of $500. If she produced one more p
jekas [21]

Answer:

Marginal cost is rising.

Explanation:

Given that,

Jill Johnson currently produces = 10,000 Pizzas per month

At a total cost = $500

Marginal cost refers to the cost of producing one more unit of a commodity to satisfy a given want.

Average total cost = $500 ÷ 10,000

                               = $0.05

Here, Marginal cost of producing pizzas is as follows:

= Total cost of producing 10,001 pizzas - Total cost of producing 10,000 pizzas

= $500.11 - $500

= $0.11

Therefore, marginal cost of producing an additional pizza is $0.11 and it is rising, since average total cost is less than marginal total cost and ATC rising.

Marigold Company estimates that annual manufacturing overhead costs will be $865,920. Estimated annual operating activity bases
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

Instructions are below.

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Marigold Company estimates that annual manufacturing overhead costs will be $865,920. Estimated annual operating activity bases are direct labor cost $492,000, direct labor hours 49,200, and machine hours 98,400.

To calculate the estimated manufacturing overhead rate we need to use the following formula:

Estimated manufacturing overhead rate= total estimated overhead costs for the period/ total amount of allocation base

Direct labor cost:

Estimated manufacturing overhead rate= 865,920/492,000= $1.76 per direct labor dollar

Direct labor hour:

Estimated manufacturing overhead rate= 865,920/49,200= $17.6 per direct labor hour

Machine-hours:

Estimated manufacturing overhead rate= 865,920/98,400=$8.8 per machine hour
