Let

x--------> total of images that the memory card can contain

we know that

\frac{2}{3} x=\frac{1}{4} x+375

Multiply by 12 both sides

8x=3x+375*12\\ 8x-3x=4,500\\ 5x=4,500\\ x=900 pictures

originally on the memory card

\frac{1}{4} x\\ =\frac{1}{4} *900\\ =225 pictures

therefore

the answer part a) is

900 pictures

the answer part b) is

225 pictures

To get the answer first we have to find full numbers.
We can use proportion
2/3 ----------------------- 375
1 -------------------------- x
Crossmultiply now
2/3*x=375           /:2/3
x=375: \frac{2}{3}
x=375* \frac{3}{2}=562 - its the answer A)
Now we have to find how much were originally on the card.
To get the answer we can just multiply 562 times 1/4.
562*1/4=140 - its the asnwer B)

Leona [35]
3x^2+6x^2-4x-8 = 3x^2(x + 2) - 2(x + 2) = (x + 2)( 3x^2 - 2) = 3(x+2)(x - \sqrt{6} /3))(x + \sqrt{6} /3) )

Solve the quadratic equation numerically (using tables of x- and y- values).
kolezko [41]

(x) (x + 5) = 0

Therefore:

  • x = 0

  • x + 5 = 0
  • x = 0 - 5
  • x = -5

PLEASE ANSWER ASAP!!!! MY TEST IS TIMED!!!
dolphi86 [110]
1.  x/6>3  multiply both sides by 6

x>18

So a. and c. are both greater than 18

2.

-4x<32  divide both sides by -4  (and remember to reverse direction of inequality sign because of multiplication/division by a negative value!)

x>-8

So three value of this infinite set are -7, -6,  -5  :P

3.

x/6≥3 multiply both sides by 6

x≥18

So three value of this infinite set of solutions are 18,19,20
