The woodcut technique is when an image is printed from an inked and carved surface of a piece of wood. The artist create a design over the piece of wood. Then is carved in the shape the artist wants and with the colors in mind. Finally, a piece of paper is applied to the piece of Wood with the ink, and the artist applies pressure from the top.

He felt they caused trouble and were putting down the traditional beliefs of Japan but he could not send them away due to the European goods they sold to the Japanese people.

In the year 1612,Tokugawa Ieyasu became frightened and afraid of religious rebellion in Japan and he forbade Christianity in Japan.
