The usual exponential growth equation is given by:

y = C * e^kt, where k greater than 0.

t is the number of years, in this case (2005 - 2000), t = 5 years
C is a constant at x = 0
k is the growth constant

There will be two equations:

2104 million = C * e^k(0)

so, C = 2104 million, the other equation is:

3881 million = 2104 million * e^k(5)

solve for k:
k= 0.12245

The exponential growth equation is:

y = 2104 million * e^(0.12245*t)

In calculating this, you would have to find the unit price first.

$13 per 3 1/4 yards is also equal to $4 per yard.

Then you would have to find out the other ones' unit prices.

a) $16 per 4 2/3 yards is equal to around $2.82 per yard, so No

b) $11 per 2 3/4 yards is equal to $4 per yard, so Yes

c) $26 per 6 1/2 yards is equal to $4 per yard, so Yes

I solved these by dividing the amount of money by the amount of string.
