On what were the boundaries of the African countries that gained their independence after World War II most often based?
sdas [7]

Answer:

On divisions forced under European imperialism

Explanation:

The boundaries of the African countries that gained their independence after World War II was based on imperialism. The rise of Imperialism brought the rush to invasion, colonization, and expansion in Africa. During those ages, many Europeans tried to explore central portions of the continent to get access to the natural resources and to extend their hold in Africa to make colonies. After World War II, many of the African countries gained independence from European imperialism.

What accusation does Luther level at the pope, cardinals, and bishops?
Usimov [2.4K]

The correct answer is letter C

Luther was disappointed by what he saw in Rome. Observing the discussions he started to see the clergyman as incompetent, petulant and cynical. The experience made Luther question the Catholic Church.

The doubts continued to germinate in the following years. Using his experience in Bible studies, he proceeded to outline his own interpretation of the Bible. This view diverged from some Catholic maxims.

He went on to say in his sermons at Wittenberg that priests had no power to grant forgiveness. For Luther, forgiveness came from within and no one would be able to bestow it on someone else, be it a priest or a pope. This contradicted the view of the Catholic Church.

Luther also began to reject indulgence, a practice in which a wealthy person sold part of his merits, especially in the form of payment to the church, to save another of dubious faith. He also doubted that the pope would be able to remove a person's soul from purgatory if one of his living relatives paid.

How did ancient Greeks chose their location for their colonies
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

In the first half of the first millennium BCE, ancient Greek city-states, most of which were maritime powers, began to look beyond Greece for land and resources, and so they founded colonies across the Mediterranean. Trade contacts were usually the first steps in the colonization process and then, later, once local populations were subdued or included within the colony, cities were established. These could have varying degrees of contact with the homeland, but most became fully independent city-states, sometimes very Greek in character, in other cases culturally closer to the indigenous peoples they neighboured and included within their citizenry. One of the most important consequences of this process, in broad terms, was that the movement of goods, people, art, and ideas in this period spread the Greek way of life far and wide to Spain, France, Italy, the Adriatic, the Black Sea, and North Africa. In total then, the Greeks established some 500 colonies which involved up to 60,000 Greek citizen colonists, so that by 500 BCE these new territories would eventually account for 40% of all Greeks in the Hellenic World.
