Birth control is a contraceptive method used to avoid pregnancy. Birth control pills are taken orally and can be effective when taken on a proper schedule. Birth control pills do not protect users from catching STDs. Birth control pills are made up by the combination of estrogen and progesterone hormones. These hormones prevent ovulation ,and due to this fertilization does not take place, thus no pregnancy.
Birth control pills do have side effects like headache, breast pain , nausea, constipation etc.
As the patient is only 14 years old she is legally not capable of indulging in any sexual activities and taking birth control pills might affect her reproductive health too.
