Hi!

War is a hard time for everyone. Many people get injured and need assistance and proper care to fully recover.

Nurses are the individuals that would help soldiers recover from battle wounds, scars, injuries, etc.

While men can also be nurses, the nursing field is dominantly women. Statistically, the field is around 70 to 80+ percent females.

Women mainly focused on nursing in the Civil War, but some actually snuck into the heat of the battle, disguising themselves so they can fight.

Hopefully, this helps! =)

How did the Portuguese slave trade start
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

They began to kidnap people from the west coast of Africa. The Spanish took the first African captives to the Americas from Europe as early as 1503, and by 1518 the first captives were shipped directly from Africa to America. The majority of African captives were exported from the coast of West Africa, some 3,000 miles between what is now Senegal and Angola, and mostly from the modern Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon.

During whichch year did Texas join the confederacy? Answer choices
KIM [24]

Answer: 1861

Explanation:

Texas formally seceded on March 2, 1861 to become the seventh state in the new Confederacy. Gov. Sam Houston was against secession, and struggled with loyalties to both his nation and his adopted state. His firm belief in the Union cost him his office when he refused to take an oath of allegiance to the new government.
