Answer:

From Conditional Statements, there can be built a Tautology.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the question, when the Hypothesis is True and the Conclusion is False, the result will be False. And that's correct.

But when Conditional Statement can be a Tautology, given the fact that not always a Conditional Statement will return the logic value of truth? Look at this example below:

1)James is from Orlando and He lives in Florida. Therefore, James is from Orlando.

2)James is from Orlando and He doesn't live in Florida. Therefore, James is from Orlando.

3)James is not from Orlando e He lives in Florida. Therefore, James is from Orlando

4)James is not from Orlando e He doesn't live in Florida. Therefore, James is from Orlando

What we have here above is symbolic for:

p∧q→p

And this is tautological, since no matter, we have on line 2 for p∧q, q being false it does not change the value for false, in any way for the whole proposition p∧q→p . What gives us a Tautology

This, p∧q→p can be rewritten as p∧q⇒p

Two teams are selling candy bars to raise money. Team A has $165 saved and they are selling each candy bar for $2. Team B has $7
devlian [24]

Answer: Each have to sell 91 candy bars to have the same amount of money.

Step-by-step explanation: Suppose x represents the amount of candy bars.

Team A already have $165 and they are selling each candy bar for $2. The mathematical equation that represents the amount of money they have is

A: 165 + 2x

Team B initially has $74 and will sell each candy bar for $3. Then, the mathematical equation representing their amount of money is

B: 74 + 3x

So, to have the same amount of money:

165 + 2x = 74 + 3x

x = 165 - 74

x = 91

Teams A and B will have the same amount of money when each of them sell 91 candy bars.

Best Buy claims that 68% of people that walk into one of their stores end up not purchasing an item. To test this, they randomly
Tema [17]

Answer:

Yes.

Step-by-step explanation:

As long as the individual's that have been selected as part of the study were actually selected randomly then yes. If there was no bias or other external factors affecting the probability of getting chosen then these individual's would clearly represent the entire population of Best Buy customers. Therefore, if the data gathered from these individuals results in being 68% of that population that does not buy anything then this would result in a valid claim by Best Buy.
