The correct answer is option B, $343.36
I came to the conclusion by multiplying the rental cost by the tax rate= 9.36 and then multiplying the daily insurance fee by the amount of days- 20*5=100 and then adding 234+9.36+100 which equals 343.36. The general formula for finding the total cost would be Rental charge+ +(rental)(tax rate)+(Insurance)(# of days)

Hope this helps a bit

The angles of a triangle are in an extended ratio of 5:7:3. What is the measure of the
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

84°

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the measures of the triangle be 5x, 7x, 3x.

By interior angle sum postulate of a triangle.

5x + 7x + 3x = 180°

15x = 180°

x = 180°/15

x = 12°

7x = 7*12°= 84°

Measure of the largest angle = 84°

For a standard normal distribution find the approximate value of p(z<0.42)
Kruka [31]

Answer:

p(z<0.42) = 0.6628

Step-by-step explanation:

A normal distribution with a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1 is called a standard normal distribution. That is to say:

μ = 0

σ² = 1

Using a calculator, we find that:

p(z<0.42) = 0.6628 (See picture attached)

What is the value of x in the triangle?
topjm [15]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the sine ratio in the right triangle and the exact value

sin30° = \frac{1}{2} , then

sin30° = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} = \frac{x}{8} = \frac{1}{2} ( cross- multiply )

2x = 8 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 4

75 POINTS HELP PLEASE.
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

1.c

2. a and b

Step-by-step explanation:

1. The absolute value of -4 is 4 and the absolute value of 4 is 4

2. The absolute value only produces positive numbers, so the answer can’t be negative.

Absolute value basically means the distance between x from 0. Since the distance between 0 and 0 is 0, the absolute value of 0 is 0.

The focus of a parabola is (2, 5) and the directrix is y = 3. Find the equation of the parabola in standard form.
dmitriy555 [2]

The equation of the parabola in standard form whose focus is (2, 5) and directrix is y = 3 is equal to the quadratic equation y = 0.25 · x² - x + 5. (Correct answer: C)

How to derive the equation of a parabola

Since the directrix is a horizontal line, then we have a parabola with a vertical axis of symmetry. The standard equation of the parabola is described below:

y - k = [1/(4 · p)] · (x - h)²     (1)

Where:

  • (h, k) - Location of the vertex.
  • p - Distance between vertex and focus.

By analytical geometry we understand that the least distance between the focus and the directrix is twice as the distance between the vertex and the focus. First, we find the coordinates of the vertex:

V(x, y) = 0.5 · F(x, y) + 0.5 · D(x, y)

V(x, y) = 0.5 · (2, 5) + 0.5 · (2, 3)

V(x, y) = (1, 2.5) + (1, 1.5)

V(x, y) = (2, 4)

By Pythagorean theorem we find that the distance between vertex and focus is 1. Then, the equation of the parabola in standard form is:

y - 4 = 0.25 · (x - 2)²

y - 4 = 0.25 · (x² - 4 · x + 4)

y - 4 = 0.25 · x² - x + 1

y = 0.25 · x² - x + 5

The equation of the parabola in standard form whose focus is (2, 5) and directrix is y = 3 is equal to the quadratic equation y = 0.25 · x² - x + 5. (Correct answer: C)
