The answer to the first question is B because \frac{e}{6} represents dividing "e" by 6. That is basically cutting it into sixths but only keeping one sixth, "m".
The answer to the second question is D because it works for all of the combinations. 2 x 1 + 3 = 5,  2 x 2 + 3 = 7,   2 x 3 + 3 = 9,   and 2 x 4 + 3 = 11. Hope this helped :)

The table shows your height on a water slide at various time intervals
Allushta [10]

1. The average rate of change in a riders height between 1 and 3 seconds -30 ft/s

2. The average rate of change in a riders height between 0 and 5 seconds -24 ft/s

3. Another word for rate of change in this situation is speed

<h3>What is speed? </h3>

Speed is defined as the rate of change of the distance travelled with time. Mathematically, it can be expressed as:

Speed = distance / time

With the above idea, we can obtain the answers to the question given above.

<h3>1. How to determine the rate of change between 1 and 3 seconds</h3>
  • Change in height = 30 - 90 = -60 ft
  • Change in time = 3 - 1 = 2 s
  • Rate of change =?

Rate = Change in height / change in time

Rate = -60 / 2

Rate = -30 ft/s

<h3>2. How to determine the rate of change between 0 and 5 seconds</h3>
  • Change in height = 0 - 120 = -120 ft
  • Change in time = 5 - 0 = 5 s
  • Rate of change =?

Rate = Change in height / change in time

Rate = -120 / 5

Rate = -24 ft/s

<h3>3. what is another word for rate of change?</h3>

From the definition of speed given above, we can say that: another word for rate of change is speed

Factor completely 3X^2 -25
Dominik [7]

In order to factor a polynomial, you have to find its roots

x_1,\ x_2,\ldots,x_n

So that you can factor it as

p(x)=(x-x_1)(x-x_2)\cdots(x-x_n)

So, in this case, we're looking for the solutions of

3x^2-25=0 \iff 3x^2=25 \iff x^2 = \dfrac{25}{3} \iff x=\pm\sqrt{\dfrac{25}{3}}=\pm\dfrac{5}{\sqrt{3}}

So, the polynomial can be written as

3x^2-25 = \left(x-\dfrac{5}{\sqrt{3}}\right)\left(x+\dfrac{5}{\sqrt{3}}\right)
