This forms in a geological setting where the water below the earth surface is heated due to the geothermal gradient that allows the water to increase its volume as it expands and becomes less dense. It then eventually forces to move upward. At the same time, the rocks above this hot water exerts a downward pressure. There comes a point when the force exerted by the hot water exceeds the pressure exerted by the overlying rocks. At this point, the geysers are formed.
