To read an act without stage directions would result in confusion and a poorly acted play.

What are the advantages of Stage Directions?

Stage directions refer to the specific activities that must be carried out in order for a play to be accurately rendered. Examples are:

 • How the Lighting must be done
 • Costumes to be worn
 • Music to be played and how, etc.

Without stage directions, the play would most likely be acted out in a way that is completely different from the intent of the writer.

Importance of victor hugo(not his poems)
mote1985 [20]
He was author of one of the most important novels in France: Les Misérables, may be is the most famous literature French work.
Even the novel have been adapted several times in Hollywood films, and there's a Broadway musical representation that also was adapted in film and was casted by Anne Hathaway in the role of Fantine, and Hugh Jackman in the role of Jean Valjean.
When the novel was released Victor Hugo was already famous, and people was impatient for the novel (kind of J. K. Rowling nowadays), and was an immediate success.
I have never read the book, but is long, it has 5 volumes, each of them it's a book itself.

What is the overall tone of this excerpt from "When We Two Parted" by Lord Byron?
Lubov Fominskaja [6]
The answer would be the first one, somber.

Using context clues, the narrator is grieving for someone. This gives off a gloomy vibe. Somber means dark and gloomy, so this would be the answer.
