Answer:  The race lasted for 7452 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:  Given that a car race lasted 2.07 hours.

We are to find the number of seconds for which the race lasts.

We know that

1 hour = 60 minutes = 60 × 60 seconds = 3600 seconds.

So,

2.07~\textup{hours}=2.07\times 3600~\textup{seconds}\\\\\Rightarrow 2.07~\textup{hours}=7452~\textup{seconds}.

Thus, the race lasted for 7452 seconds.

Is this correct? The answer I picked was the only one that had no limit. If I did it correctly the other choices limit was zero.
andriy [413]

Step-by-step explanation:

These are all examples of p-series:

∑(1 / nᵖ), where p>0.

If p > 1, the series converges.  If 0 < p ≤ 1, the series diverges.

First option:

∑(1/n⁵)

Here, p = 5.  Since 5 > 1, the series converges.

Second option:

∑((√n+3)/n³)

∑((√n)/n³) + ∑(3/n³)

∑(1/n^2.5) + 3 ∑(1/n³)

In the first sum, p = 2.5.  In the second sum, p = 3.  Both are greater than 1, so the series converges.

Third option:

∑((n−4)/(n⁴√n))

∑(1/(n³√n)) − ∑(4/(n⁴√n))

∑(1/n^3.5) − 4 ∑(1/n^4.5)

In the first sum, p = 3.5.  In the second sum, p = 4.5.  Both are greater than 1, so the series converges.

Fourth option:

∑(1/∛n)

∑(1/n^⅓)

Here, p = ⅓.  This is less than 1, so the series diverges.

Note: if a series is converging, then the limit is 0.

However, if the limit of a series is 0, it does not necessarily mean that series is converging.

Here, the limit of all 4 options is 0.  However, the fourth option is a diverging series.

Arte-miy333 [17]
1.5 ft per second = 1.5(60) = 90 ft per minute

90 ft per minute for 35 minutes = (90 * 35) = 3150 ft

A factory produces 6 motorcycles in 9 hours. Find how many hours it takes to produce 16 motorcycles at this rate.
Lisa [10]

24 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

If 6 motorcycles are made in 9 hours we indicate the ration as;

6 motorcycles  = 9 hours

How many will 16 motorcycles take;

16 motorcycles = ? hours (which we shall assign as x hours)

We shall cross multiply the two rations;

6x = 16 * 9

X = 144/6

X = 24

= 24 hours

A striped marlin can swim at a rate of 70 miles per hour. Is this a faster or slower rate than a sailfish, which takes 30 minute
Vilka [71]
Let's do the work shall we....

this is going to be a ratio problem.

Striped Marlin:
70 miles/ One hour (Or 60 minutes)

Sailfish:
40 miles/ 30 minutes.

Since 30 minutes is only one half of 60 minutes, all we have to do is multiply the sailfish ratio by 2 in order to receive the correct mph.

(40miles/30 minutes) x2 = (80 miles/60 minutes(or one hour)).

Therefore, the sailfish is faster! 80 miles per hour is faster than the 70 mph marlin.
