Chronic Stress is the organism's response to emotional pressure that has been sustained for a prolonged period of time. The individual enters a state in which it feels helpless as it considers that it has little to no control over the situations that generate stress.
When under stress, the organism segregates cortisol, also known as "stress hormones".<em> A long-term exposure to this hormone leads to negative effects (consequences) such as</em>:
- <u>High Blood Pressure</u>, which may lead to heart disease
- <u>Suppression of the immune system</u>, which make the individual more vulnerable to diseases.
College students consist of Digital Natives who have grown up with technology, refers to the first generation that has grown up with digital technology, and that are native to the languages of computers, video games and internet, digital natives are children and young people born since 1990, who are experts with computers, have skills and ways to communicate with others that elders can not understand. They are consumers and producers of almost everything that exists in the network and have caused a new gap, this time alphabet-generational.
