Hi there!

Thanks for asking for help!

I believe Part A of your answer is the expression: n+2n.
Because that is the answer for Part A, Part B is the answer: "The expression for the bookcases is n+2n because the problem says 'the larger bookcase holds twice as much as the smaller one,' and 'let n represent the amount of books the smaller bookcase holds'.
Since you need to find an expression for the amount both bookcases needs to hold you would add n (capacity of the smaller bookcase) and 2n (capacity of the larger bookcase) together to have an expression that represents the amount both hold.
Part C: 90=3n
I know this is the correct equation based on the expression written above since n+2n=3n, and the problem says "the amount both bookcases hold together is 90 books"

btw, bookcase 1 holds 30 books and the large bookcase holds 60.

Hope this helps you out! :)

natally needs to cut a pice of paper so that she has exactly 1/3 of it.if the length of the paper is 11 inches, how long will be
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

3 \frac{2}{3} inches long

Step-by-step explanation:

Find how long the paper will be by dividing 11 by 3. This will find how much 1/3 of the 11 inch paper is.

11/3

= 3 \frac{2}{3}

So, if she cuts the paper, the paper will be 3 \frac{2}{3} inches long

In the coronet plane, what is the length of the line segment that connects points at (5, 4) and (-3, -1)? Enter your answer in t
lozanna [386]

Answer:

<h2>9.43</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of a distance between two points:

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

We have the points (5, 4) and (-3, -1). Substitute:

d=\sqrt{(-3-5)^2+(-1-4)^2}=\sqrt{(-8)^2+(-5)^2}=\sqrt{64+25}=\sqrt{89}\approx9.43

Put into slope intercept form:(-4, 1); m= -2/3
zaharov [31]
Y = mx + b
slope(m) = -2/3
(-4,1)...x = -4 and y = 1
now we sub and find b, the y int
1 = -2/3(-4) + b
1 = 8/3 + b
1 - 8/3 = b
3/3 - 8/3 = b
-5/3 = b

so ur equation is : y = -2/3x + (-5/3) which can be written as : y = -2/3x - 5/3
