When something has a negative power you must move it to the denominator to give it a positive power therefore this would then turn into 1/[(5/4)^4] to simplify this (5/4)^4 would be (25/16)(25/16) then finally (625/256) so it would then look like this 1/(625/256) in order to not have a fraction in the denominator you would multiply; 1 x (256/625) which is 256/625.

(5/4)^(-4) = 1/(5/4)^4
1/(5/4)(5/4)(5/4)(5/4)
1/(625/256)
1/(2 113/256)
256/625

Is a linear function when y=x?
goldfiish [28.3K]

No. It's ANY equation that when you put it on a graph, the graph is a straight line.

That almost always means

Y = Ax + B or Ax + By = C

with A, B, and C, being any numbers.

Another thing it means is that the x and the y are never squared or any other power ... only the 1st power ... and they're never in a denominator of a fraction.

Answer:

Complementary angles, adjacent angles

Step-by-step explanation:

Which relationships describe angles 1 and 2?

Options: Complementary angles, vertical angles, supplementary angles, adjacent angles

Angles 1 and 2 are opposite to the 90° angle. So, the angles' relationship to that angles is a vertical angle, meaning that the two add up to 90°.

Complementary angles add up to 90°, so this option is correct.

Vertical angles are the pairs of opposite angles formed by two intersecting lines. Because the two angles do not follow this definition, this option is incorrect.

Supplementary angles add up to 180°. However, we know that the two add up to 90°, so this option is incorrect.

Adjacent angles are angles that are next to each other, so this option is correct.

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask any questions!
