First, x+y=60 and solve for x

x= 60-y

Then set up the equation 11x+6y=460

Since, x=60-y, you plug in for y

11(60-y)+6y=460

660-11y+6y=460

660-5y=460

660-660-5y=460-660

-5y=-200

Divide both sides by 5 (you can drop the negative because they are both negative)

5y/5 = 200/5

y=40

Then take y & plug it back into the original equation of:

x+y = 60 (solve for x)

x+40=60

x+40-40=60-40

x=20

The answer is 20 adult tickets (x) and 40 child tickets (y) were sold.

Given s left parenthesis t right parenthesis equals 5 t squared plus 5 ts(t)=5t2+5t, find
finlep [7]

Answer:

The velocity function is v(t)=10t+5.

The acceleration function is a(t)=10.

When t = 44, the velocity is v(44)=445 \:\frac{ft}{s}.

When t = 44, the acceleration is a(44)=10\: \frac{ft}{s^2}.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the position function is given by

s(t)=5t^2+5t

Velocity is defined as the rate of change of position or the rate of displacement. If you take the derivative of the position function you get the instantaneous velocity function.

v(t)=\frac{ds}{dt}

Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity. If you take the derivative of the instantaneous velocity function you get the instantaneous acceleration function.

a(t)=\frac{dv}{dt}

The instantaneous velocity function is given by

v(t)=\frac{d}{dt} s(t)=\frac{d}{dt}(5t^2+5t)\\\\\mathrm{Apply\:the\:Sum/Difference\:Rule}:\quad \left(f\pm g\right)'=f\:'\pm g'\\\\v(t)=\frac{d}{dt}\left(5t^2\right)+\frac{d}{dt}\left(5t\right)\\\\\mathrm{Apply\:the\:Power\:Rule}:\quad \frac{d}{dx}\left(x^a\right)=a\cdot x^{a-1}\\\\v(t)=10t+\frac{d}{dt}\left(5t\right)\\\\\mathrm{Apply\:the\:common\:derivative}:\quad \frac{d}{dt}\left(t\right)=1\\\\v(t)=10t+5

The instantaneous acceleration function is given by

a(t)=\frac{dv}{dt} =\frac{d}{dt}(10t+5)\\\\\mathrm{Apply\:the\:Sum/Difference\:Rule}:\quad \left(f\pm g\right)'=f\:'\pm g'\\\\a(t)=\frac{d}{dt}\left(10t\right)+\frac{d}{dt}\left(5\right)\\\\a(t)=10

To find the velocity and acceleration when t = 44, we substitute this value into the velocity and acceleration functions

v(44)=10(44)+5\\v(44)=445 \:\frac{ft}{s}

a(44)=10\: \frac{ft}{s^2}

Mr. Brown shares with the class that 70% of the students got an A on the English vocabulary quiz. If Mr. Brown has 100 students,
mezya [45]

Answer:

a. \frac{70}{100}

b. 0.7

c. 0.7=70%=\frac{70}{100}

Step-by-step explanation:

70% of 100 received an A, that is 70/100 times 100 equal to 70

\frac{70}{100}*100=70

a. 70% = \frac{70}{100}

b. \frac{70}{100} = 0.7

Notice that 70/100 is equal to 7/10 which is 0.7

c. 0.7=70%=\frac{70}{100}

Jessica feeds her dog 3/4 pounds of dog food for each meal. Jessica has just bought 24 pounds of dog food. For how many meals wi
Leokris [45]
To calculate how many meals the dog food would last, we need to multiply 24 by 3/4, since 3/4 pounds is how much dog food the dog eats every meal.

24 * 3/4
= 18

Answer: 18 meals

Hope this helped!

Salim and Asma are going to a fair to enjoy themselves. Their parents give Rs 49 and Rs 45 respectively as spending money. At th
Galina-37 [17]

First, let's make a variable to represent the total amount of money each spent.

How about 'r'?

Since they both spent the same amount of money, you can represent the money they have left with these two equations:

49 - r

45 - r

Because one has 3 times more than the other, it can be represented like this:

49 - r = 3(45 - r)

49 - r = 135 - 3r

Subtract 49 from both sides:

-r = 86 - 3r

Add 3r to both sides:

2r = 86

r = 43

They've both spent Rs 43

Good luck!
