Your answer would be D) Simile.
This is because the clause compares the loneliness to a cloud, and similes are used to compare things, like "The food was as hot as the sun" or "The school was like a zoo".

I hope this helps!

Hi.

This clause would be an example of a: D. simile.

It couldn't be an alliteration because alliteration is  the occurrence of the same letter or sound.
It couldn't be a hyperbole because that means an exaggerated statement.
And it couldn't be a metaphor because metaphors do not usually contain "like" or "as".

Good luck :)

Anvisha [2.4K]
It makes sense; but there are two phrases there that could be divided to make the sentence flow better.
“I am not happy with myself, nor will I ever be.”
