See, as a consumer you do become more aware but you can also become more responsible.
How you may ask?
Well this is quite simple actually.
The first thing that happens is people become more aware of the way their money is being used and how in some places you get used and how in others you don't. Once you become more aware of that you start to use your money in a more responsible way. Therefore, you become both.
(This can be the case for more then just money. Money is just the example I used.)
