Think of products that equal to 72
When you find those numbers add or subtract those numbers to see if you get the value in the center

9*8=72

Make 9 a negative (-9) and 8 a negative 9 in the first parenthesis and positive 8 in the second you will get
-8x+9x=-x

(x-9)(x+8)

A bakery uses 10 3/5 ounces of icing for every 1/4 of a cake. What is the unit rate in ounces of icing per cake?
natita [175]

Answer:

42\frac{2}{5}}\frac{ounces}{cake}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

To calculate the unit rate divide the total ounces by 1/4 of a cake

but first convert mixed number to an improper fraction

10\frac{3}{5}\ ounces=\frac{10*5+3}{5}=\frac{53}{5}\ ounces

\frac{(53/5)}{(1/4)}=\frac{53*4}{5}=\frac{212}{5}\frac{ounces}{cake}

Convert to mixed number

\frac{212}{5}\frac{ounces}{cake}=\frac{210}{5}+\frac{2}{5}=42\frac{2}{5}}\frac{ounces}{cake}

This is the second part of that question. What's the answer to this
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

x = -22

Step-by-step explanation:

The given expression is :

-0.57x+0.27x = 6.6

We need to find the value of x.

x(-0.57+0.27) = 6.6

x(-0.3) = 6.6

x=\dfrac{6.6}{-0.3}\\\\x=-22

So, the value of x is -22.
