How does Shelley use Frankenstein to address the societal concerns of the scientific revolution?
Lisa [10]

Shelley's Frankenstein is important because of the ethical dimensions of technology and its irony between science and creationism. Society feared technology back then and Shelley wrote an ironic story about a scientist who uses technology to build a terrorizing monster. The correct answer is obviously D.

George Herbert was a Welsh-born poet from the U.K. His poetry was one of the best around, probably because of the way he used his thoughts to elaborate them. Contexts about understanding Herbert's poetry include what they actually mean. This is important as poetry always has a meaning, and the reader also has to find out what the poem means.

Reaching the gate, Odysseus and the forester
Maslowich
This excerpt probably should have included the verse following it, which is "Here is Odysseus' hall, no hall like this!" So they are standing at the gate at the home of Odysseus.

He has in fact made a long journey home, so B could be correct. The journey did require patience and endurance, so A could be correct. But I would go with D, happiness upon returning home.

A reasonable argument could be made for all of the above. Symbolism can be subjective, and each reader may interpret things differently.
