Mrs. Greensmith works a PC Richards and earns $35 per week plus a 12% commission o sales. How much would she earn for the week i
n200080 [17]
Answer: $245

she makes $35 every week (her wage, i’m assuming) regardless of how many sales she makes.

in order to find out how much money she makes out of her sales, you have to multiply the percentage commission by how much her sales was: so .12x1750 = $210 from sales.

you then add up her wage and her sales money, so $35 from wage + $210 from sales = $245 total for the week

answer: $245

Part B

Tara can cut Twelve 2/5 foot pieces can be cut from 4 4/5 feet of rope.

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A: How many 2/5 foot pieces can Tara cut from the 4 4/5 feet of rope?

This is calculated as:

4 4/5 feet of rope ÷ 2/5 foot pieces

= 24/5 ÷ 2/5

= 24/5 × 5/2

= 12

Part B: Using the information in Part A, interpret the meaning of the quotient in terms of the two fractions given

The quotient in Part A is 12

Therefore, this can be interpreted as:

Tara can cut Twelve 2/5 foot pieces can be cut from 4 4/5 feet of rope.

Derive the equation of the parabola with a focus at (0, −4) and a directrix of y = 4.
CaHeK987 [17]

<u>Answer:</u>

y=-\frac{1}{16} x^2

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Equation of parabola with focus at (0,-4) and directrix is y=4.

We know that parabola is the locus of all the points such that the distance from fixed point on the parabola to fixed line directrix is the same.

The parabola is opening downwards.

Let any point on parabola is (x,y).

Distance from focus(0,-4) to (x,y) = \sqrt{(x-0)^2+(y-(-4))^2}=|y-4|

\sqrt{(x-0)^2+(y-+4)^2}=|y-4|

(x-0)^2+(y+4)^2=(y-4)^2

(x)^2+(y+4)^2=(y-4)^2

x^2+(y^2+4y+4y+16)=y^2-4y-4y+16

x^2+y^2+8y+16=y^2-8y+16

x^2+16y^2=0

16y=-x^2

y=-\frac{1}{16} x^2
