I would say the Middle east. Specifically the region of the Holy Land (Jerusalem) in Palestine.
The main point of the crusades was the take that land into the possession of the Christians.

Frontiersman Daniel Boone (October 22, 1734-September 26, 1820) lived for several years in western Virginia. Boone was born near present Reading, Pennsylvania. In 1751, Boone’s family resettled in North Carolina on the North Fork of the Yadkin River. (That answers where he lived.)
They used their natural resources often in the form of food, through fishing, hunting of bears and deer, and picked berries and fruits. Along with using the bears and deer for food, they repurposed their fur for clothes and blankets.
