The populations are already sparse (due to being mainly desert) added to the fact that there is a huge influx of people seeking work oppotunities in the oil industry, from Westerners to Asian communities. This swamps the local population.

Subtropical waters are typically more saline than equatorial waters because of
Advocard [28]
Subtropical waters are typically more saline than equatorial waters because of the bigger temperature and much lower precipitation.
The precipitation manages to lower the salinity on the surface of the water even create ''pools'' with fresh water in the middle of the saline water. In the equatorial region there's rain almost every day, so the salinity is lower, while in the subtropical regions there's seasonal rain and it is in much lower amount, the temperature is higher which makes the water evaporate more and the salt to be more concentrated, thus the higher salinity.

23: List the different types of radiation according to wavelength? Please put them in the order of longest wavelength to shortes
Butoxors [25]

Explanation:

Radiation means ‘energy that is transported from one spot to another without the need of direct contact between the two locations’, Light in each carries a different amount of energy, this is what we call electromagnetic radiation or electromagnetic waves. Gamma rays are the most energetic, and radio is the least.

In order from longest to shortes wavelenghts we have:

 • Radio waves: they are made by various types of transmitters, given off by stars, sparks, and lightning, they have the lowest frequencies (longest wavelenghts) in the electromagnetic spectrum and are used mainly for communications.
 • Microwaves: they are extremely high-frequency radio waves (Their wavelength is usually a couple of centimeters) made by various types of transmitters.
 • Infra-red waves: they are just below visible red light in the electromagnetic spectrum, they're given off by hot objects.
 • Visible lights is the tiny part of the electromagnetic spectrum our eyes can detect.
 • Ultra-Violet: this light is given off by the Sun in large quantities. We call it "UV" for short and can also be used to kill microbes.
 • X-rays: they are very high-frequency waves that carry a lot of energy. They will pass through most substances, and this makes them useful in medicine and industry to see inside things.
 • Gamma rays: they are given off by stars and by some radioactive substances. They are extremely high-frequency waves (the shortest wavelength) and carry a large amount of energy. They pass through most materials.

In the image, I annexed you can see the electromagnetic spectrum with the type of radiations from the shortest to the longest wavelengths.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

What about the Fall Line makes navigating rivers difficult?
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

Rivers of the Coastal Plain were a major means of commercial transportation during the 1700s and early 1800s. Cities founded along the fall line, called “fall line cities,” are located at the places where these rivers crossed the fall line, marking the upstream limit of travel. The city of Columbus, for example, was established where the Chattahoochee River crosses the fall line; Macon, Milledgeville, and Augusta are similarly located at the crossings of the Ocmulgee, Oconee, and Savannah rivers, respectively. These cities became important transportation hubs because traders could only travel upstream until they reached the waterfalls of the fall line. At that point they were forced to disembark and reload their cargo on the other side of the falls in order to continue their journeys. Columbus served as the upstream head of navigation for the Chattahoochee, as did Augusta for the Savannah River and Macon for the Ocmulgee River. After the first steamship arrived in 1828, Columbus became a gateway city for cotton. Above the fall line, flatboats and barges moved goods around the state. Below the fall line, steamships had unimpeded access to move goods, mostly cotton, into the Gulf of Mexico.
