The given system of equations are consistent and independent

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given system of equations are:

y = 6x - 7 ----- eqn 1

y = -3x + 8 -------- eqn 2

We have to classify the given system of equations

Let us first solve both the equations

Substitute eqn 2 in eqn 1

-3x + 8 = 6x - 7

Move the variables to one side and constants to other side

-3x - 6x = -7 - 8\\\\-9x = -15\\\\9x = 15\\\\x = \frac{15}{9}\\\\x = \frac{5}{3}

Now substitute the above value of "x" in eqn 1

y = 6 \times \frac{5}{3} - 7\\\\y = 10 - 7\\\\y = 3

Thus the given system of equations has only one solution (x, y) = (\frac{5}{3}, 3)

If a system has at least one solution, it is said to be consistent.

If a consistent system has exactly one solution, it is independent

So the given system of equations are consistent and independent

Can someone help me with this question with details
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

I think the answer is 5 ( if wrong then do a low rating)

Step-by-step explanation:

The way I found the answer was by using PEDMAS so first I handled [(4 - (-5)) x (-7)] which is the same as 4 + -5 which equals -1 and when multiplied by -7 equals positive 7 because whenever you multiply 2 negatives you get a positive.

Next I solved 6 / (-3) which is -2 since whenever a positive is divided by a negative the quotient is negative. Now the equation is:

-2 + 7 and when solved is -2 + 7 = 5

You flip a coin four times and then roll a fair six sided die four times. The coin lands heads up every time in the day shows an
exis [7]

Answer:

0.00390625

Step-by-step explanation:

For coins :

Number of rolls, trials, n = 4

P(heads) = 0.5

Using binomial probability formula :

P(x =x) : nCr * p^x q ;

P(obtaining exactly 4 heads) = 4C4 * 0.5^4 * 0.5^0 = 1 * 0. 0625 * 1 = 0.0625

P(even number from 4 coin tosses)

Even faces = (2,4,6)

Total faces = (1,2,3,4,5,6)

P(success) = 3/6 = 0.5

P(obtaining exactly 4 even) = 4C4 * 0.5^4 * 0.5^0 = 1 * 0. 0625 * 1 = 0.0625

Hence, obtaining 4 even outcomes and 4 heads = 0.0625 * 0.0625 =0.00390625
