Answer:

the answer:

the general property of translation is as follow:

A translation preserves the length and slope of a line. A translation by a vector of the form V(h, k)shifts the x-coordinate of each point by h units, and the y-coordinate of each point by k units.

so if the triangle ABC is translated to image A′B′C′

we get the new coordinates of B'

A(5, 1)--------A'(5+x, 1+y), so the vector of translation is V(x, y)

and we know that 6=5+x  and -2=1+y which implies (x, y)=(1,-3)

to find the coordinates of B

B(a, b)----------B'(a+1, b-3)= (-1,0)

therefore, a+1=-1, and b-3=0 finally  B(-2, 3)

(is this correct?)

What is the solution to the equation?
AleksandrR [38]

Solution of the equation: x=6\frac{1}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation that we have to solve in this problem is:

13\frac{3}{4}+x=7\frac{1}{4}

The first step to do is to rewrite the mixed fractions as improper fractions. We have:

13\frac{3}{4}=\frac{13\cdot 4+3}{4}=\frac{52+3}{4}=\frac{55}{4}

And

7\frac{1}{4}=\frac{7\cdot 4+1}{4}=\frac{29}{4}

So the equation becomes

\frac{29}{4}+x=\frac{55}{4}

Now we multiply by 4 each term on both sides, and we get

29+4x=55

Now we subtract 29 from both sides,

4x=55-29=26

And finally, we divide both sides by 4:

x=\frac{26}{4}=\frac{13}{2}=6\frac{1}{2}

Answer:

y = 1x + 7

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>The equation formula for this scenario is y = mx + b</u>

m = slope

b = y-intercept

To find the slope, pick two points. I picked (2,9) and (4,11).

Subtract 11 from 9, you'll get 2.

Subtract 4 from 2, you'll get 2.

2/2 equals 1.     The slope (m) = 1

To find the b, y-intercept, plot the points on a graph and see if the linear line across the y-intercept.  For this case, the y-intercept is 7.

The equation is:  y = 1x + 7
