the milk weighs less than 70 pounds

milk =  64       half of 64 = 32    difference between 32 and 38= 6                    64+6 = 70                

empty can =6 pounds

38 is the weight with the can so if we subtract the total weight by the weight of half we can see how much the can weighs

70 - 38 = 32
