Clover is the female horse, companion to Boxer. She represents the women of the revolution.

a. No. 4.... she does not understand why the 4th commandment of the animals has to be changed. The number 4 represents her challenging the laws.

b. Wings/feathers.... she tries to save boxer from slaughter. Therefore she could be his guardian angel.
