Answer:

Day 1 =8

Day 2 = 12

Day 3 = 18

Day 4 = 27

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be how far he rode on  the first day

He rode 1.5 times how far he rode on the first day on the second day

1.5 x is how far he rode on the second day

He rode 1.5 times how far he rode on the second day on the third day

1.5(1.5 x) is how far he rode on the third day

2.25x

He rode 1.5 times how far he rode on the third day on the fourth  day

1.5(2.25x) is how far he rode on the fourth  day

3.375x

He needs to ride a total of 65 miles

day 1 + day 2 + day3 + day 4 = 65 miles

x + 1.5x + 2.25x + 3.375x = 65

Combine like terms

8.125x = 65

Divide each side by 8.125

8.125x/8.125 = 65/8.125

x=8

He needs to start with 8 miles on the first day

x=8

1.5x = 12

2.25x =18

3.375x =27

Day 1 =8

Day 2 = 12

Day 3 = 18

Day 4 = 27

A football coach walks 12 meters westward, then 16 meters eastward,
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:

Total distance traveled = 56 m

Total displacement is 12 m

Direction of coach is westward

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that football coach first go 12 meter westward then 16 meter eastward.

So no position of coach in eastward direction = 16 - 12 = 4 m

And then 22 m west westward

Therefore position of coach now is 22-4 = 18 m westward

And finally 6 m eastward

Therefore final position of coach is 18-6= 12 m westward

So displacement of coach is 12 m and direction is westward.

Total distance traveled = 12+16+22+6= 56 m

There are 1900 students at Mason High School. 68% play a sport, 12% are in band, and 17% are in student council. If 2% of studen
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Answer:

Probability that a randomly selected student plays sport and is in band = 1/50

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of students= 1900

Percentage of those that play sport and are in band = 2%

Hence those that play sport and are in band = 2/100 x 1900 = 38 students

Probability that a randomly selected student plays sport and is in band = 38/1900 = 1/50

Sue needs to drive 372 miles to visit her aunt. She stopped at a gas station one-third of the way in to her trip. How many miles
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

Sue has traveled 124 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the distance covered by Sue is a fraction of the total distance to be covered.

The total distance to her aunt's = 372 miles

but the gas station is at one-third of the distance to be covered.

Thus,

Miles traveled by Sue = \frac{1}{3} x 372

                                    = 124

Miles traveled by Sue = 124 miles.

Therefore Sue has traveled 124 miles.
