Well the cold war effected the United States by shaping the way they thought everyone was living a peaceful life with their families but everyone had one thought If the Soviet Union was going to attack them living in fear that a bomb might drop on them at any given time so they all thought about their next nuclear bomb or what weapon would help them the most if the Soviet Union ever did attack again.
