kirill [66]
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 was supported by Andrew Jackson, the act forced members of Native American tribes to leave their lands in the East and relocate further West. Most Whigs also opposed this legislation. However, three of the five tribes did NOT favor the legislation because they welcomed the opportunity for westward expansion. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 led to the forcible removal of Indians form the Southeast which can be considered ethnic cleansing and was not supported by the Native American tribes themselves.

Cloud [144]
Aryans did not establish a simple form of government. This ancient civilization had networks of leaders and they considered themselves to be noble men. Aryan is loosely translated as a word that means "noble" and ancient Indo-Iranian people self-designated this word for themselves.

Why did reconstruction apparently fail so badly? was the failure primarily one of immediate political circumstances, or was it m
uysha [10]
The reconstruction failed because the majority of the freed slaves were located in the south, the states that had attempted to succeed from the Union. Now they had the chance to rule the government and had no interest in freeing slaves or offering rights to black people. The race as well as sectional relations was a huge factor when it comes to the failure of the reconstruction.

What was the Sepoy Rebellion, and how did it change colonial India?
Bumek [7]
The Sepoy Rebellion was mainly a rebellion against the imposing rule of the British East Indian Company in India--which many local Indians felt was both economically and morally unfair. It led to a wide-spread British reorganization of the political and military institutions in India in an effort to have more of a solidified rule.

Who does the San Francisco Board of Supervisors blame for these living conditions? Do you agree with their assessment? Why or wh
Olin [163]

The San Francisco Borad of Supervisors blame the Chinese for these living conditions. They argue that it is as if the Chinese community existed in open defiance of the law and even say that they are stronger against the law than other races.

I do not agree with their assessment because it is profoundly racist, attributing this conditions to some racial essentialism and campaigning for the banning of Chinese citizens in American soil. Instead of this, the San Francisco Board of supervisors should try to address the political and social factors that have led the Chinese communities to live in those conditions: being denied certain jobs other than cooks or housemaids, affordable housing outside of ghettoes and the financial stability to look after their families, communities and the improvement of their spaces in the city.
