Henry Ford

Born on july 30th, 1863, in Greenfield Township, Michigan, Ford is considered one of the biggest revolutionaries in economical, business and industrial history of all time. Ford's success was the result of great ingenuity and how the industrial revolution was affecting the masses.

He began his early life learning how to operate machines and he was fascinated about it. When he grew older, he became an engineer and that is when everything started to come into place. In 1908 he started the Ford Motor Company, and the production of the Ford model T, which would change the life of everyone forever.

There are many reasons why Ford and his company are so important for American history: First, he developed the first ever moving assembly line, which led to a greater capacity of production than any of it's competitors and this system also led to the name Ford to be well known all over the world.

Second, the ability to produce automobiles in massive quantities allowed them to be more accesible for the people to purchase them which, with time, turned into the fact of every person buying automobiles and transforming American's lifestyle forever, and the way that people thought of cars and mobility.

Third, and probably most important, US started to export automobiles, and the trade of cars inside and outside of the US created a huge expansion in economy, which made the US a stronger and even more recognized country in the entire world.

It is for this that Henry Ford is one of the greatest figures of the 20th century.

How did economic sanctions affect apartheid in Africa?
Delvig [45]
When the Afrikaner-backed National Party Came to power in South Africa in 1948, it implemented its campaign promises in the form of high apartheid. This contrasted with the segregationist policies of the pre-war government. While much of that legislation was designed to restructure the organization of economic opportunity in South Africa, apartheid legislation lacked the trademark of systematic exploitation of native Africans (Butler 19). The English speaking whites who had held power before the war were sidelined as the white constituency was consolidated under the National Party, a Afrikaner dominated political group. This allowed the National Party to enact such legislation as the Population Registration Act, which enforced classification into four racial categories: white, Co loured, Asiatic, or native. The next high apartheid landmark was the Group Areas Act of 1950. This act enforced the separate areas of residence by race across the country. It would be this act that eventually led to Promotion of Bantu Self-Government Act of 1959 that transferred Africans’ political rights to these quasi-states, which allowed the South African government to treat natives as foreigners and allow them no political representation in the South African government.
