Here are some important factors to take into account when conducting a good investigation:

1. <em>Approach:</em> the approach and method adopted in the investigation should be suitable for the context, data collection and the type of information required.

2. <em>Objectives and researchable questions:</em> they must reflect that the investigation is worth, that you have carefully think about what you are going to investigate. In addition, they help to plan what to do at the outset.  

3. <em>Ethnics and integrity:</em> legal procedures, and permissions are carried out correctly with the specifications required regarding the type of investigation conducted.  

4. <em>Plagiarism:</em> quotation and paraphrasing are clearly differentiated. To make a good use of important information avoid using other people’s words without acknowledging the source.

5. <em>Citation and references:</em> researcher must provide detail information of books, journal articles, chapters of books and others sources of information used in the study. All of them must be given in the list of bibliography.

6. <em>Critical review of the literature:</em> the revision of the literature should demonstrate that the writer has analyzed the work in the field with insight.  

7. <em>Reporting findings:</em> all information collected would mean nothing if the reader is not capable to understand it. The author needs to categorize and interpret the information in interesting and easy-to-read ways, such as charts, graphics, and tables.
