Ras is a g-protein that is activated when a growth factor attaches to egfr. its activation results in the in the exchange of gtp
Artist 52 [7]
RAS is a very important protein that belongs to a class of protein referred to as GTPases and plays a crucial role in switching on pathways that control cell growth, proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation and migration. For RAS to become inactive it must hydrolyze GTP to GDP which slows down the process of cell proliferation. Mutation in one copies of RAS will result to cancer because the mutated copy will permanently attach to GTP and remain in activated form which will lead to uncontrollable cell division and hence development of cancer.

jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

The correct answer is "a hypertonic solution".

Explanation:

Seawater is the most clear example of a hypertonic solution in nature. The concentration of ions in seawater are far more superior than the concentration of ions inside a plant or an animal cell, since seawater have an osmolarity of about 1000 mOsm/l. Therefore, at high tide a plant or animal cell will be in a hypertonic solution, and the cells must have adaptions to avoid cell shrinking and dead.

What is the diploid of the zygote produced by fertilization—haploid or diploid?
nasty-shy [4]

Answer:

"Haploid" refers to any cell that has 23 chromosomes (half of the total 46). "Gametes" are specifically sex cells that have 23 chromosomes. "Diploid" refers to any cell that has all 46 chromosomes. "Zygote" is the result of two gamete (haploid) cells fusing, and becoming a diploid cell.
