A chef cooked 5 kg of mashed potatoes for a dinner party. If the guest ate only 1/12 of the amount he cooked. How much did the eat?

To do this we have to multiply 5 times 1 1/2. We can write 1 1/2 as an improper fraction which will be 3/2. We can write 5 as 5/1 and multiply across with 3/2. This will be 15/2 or 7 1/2 as a mixed fraction.
