Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945) was elected President in 1933. He had the resposibility of ruling after the Great Depression,a period of American history in which citizens all accross The United States lost their jobs and savings after a major economic crisis. The new deal was a series of policies and projects intended to assure and relieve American citizens from the consequences of the economic breakdown.
