Dr Accounts receivable 9,070

    Cr Fees earned 9,070

Supplies on hand on June 30 were $7,410.

Dr Supplies expense 12,630

    Cr Supplies 12,630

The depreciation of equipment was estimated to be $12,530 for the year.

Dr Depreciation expense - equipment 12,530

    Cr Accumulated depreciation - equipment 12,530

The balance in unearned fees represented the June 1 receipt in advance for services to be provided. During June $17,420 of the services was provided.

Dr Unearned fees 17,420

    Cr Fees earned 17,420

Unpaid wages accrued on June 30 were $1,600.

Dr Wages expense 1,600

    Cr Wages payable 1,600

b. Determine the revenues, expenses, and net income of Milbank Repairs& Service before the adjusting entries.

Fees Earned $501,120

- Wages Expense $116,260

- Rent Expense $88,700

- Utilities Expense $63,640

- Miscellaneous Expense $10,020

d. Determine the effect of the adjusting entries on Nancy Townes, Capital.

Nancy Townes is the owner of Milbank Repairs & Service, and since this is a sole proprietorship (she is the sole owner), the retained earnings account does not exist. So any profits or losses will increase or decrease her capital account respectively. Since after the adjustments the net income decreased by $270, her capital account will also decrease by $270.

Northwest Hospital is a full-service hospital that provides everything from major surgery and emergency room care to outpatient
irina1246 [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

The direct cost is the cost that is directly related to production. The example is direct material cost, direct labor cost, etc whereas the indirect cost is the cost that is not directly related to the production. It is also known as overhead cost only records all indirect cost i.e depreciation on equipment of factory, property taxes, etc

Based on this, the classification is as follows

1 The wages of pediatric nurses / The pediatric department = Direct cost (D)

2 Prescription drugs / A particular patient  =  Direct cost (D)

3 Heating the hospital / The pediatric patient = Indirect cost (D)

4 The salary of the head of pediatrics / The pediatric patient = Direct cost (D)

5 The salary of the head of pediatrics / The particular pediatric patient = Indirect cost (D)

6 Hospital chaplain's salary / A particular patient    = Indirect cost (D)

7 Lab tests by outside contractor / A particular patient = Direct cost (D)

8 Lab tests by outside contractor / A particular department = Direct cost (D)

A U.S. Treasury bill with 69 days to maturity is quoted at a discount yield of 2.29 percent. Assume a $1 million face value. Wha
Molodets [167]

Answer:

2.32%

Explanation:

The formula for bond equivalent yield is in the attachment, we use it with the values provided in this question.

First, use the discount yield to calculate the price (P) of the bond

Face value = $1,000,000

Discount yield = 2.29 or 0.0229 as a decimal

Discount yield = [ (FV - P)/P ] *(360/T)

0.0229 =[ (1,000,000 -P)/P ] *360/69

0.0229P = (1,000,000 -P )5.2174

0.0229P + 5.2174P = 5,217,391.30

Price; P  = $995,628.3618

Next, plug in the numbers in the bond equivalent yield (BEY) formula;

BEY = [ (1,000,000 - 995,628.3618)/$995,628.3618 ] * 365/69

BEY = 0.02323 OR 2.32%

Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

D. Increase both assets and equity by $180

Explanation:

When a service is done on account, revenue will be recognized but the corresponding assets is accounts receivables and not cash. Hence the transaction will increase the company's revenue and assets balances . Revenue is turned into equity through retained earnings.

The accounting equation is

assets = liabilities + equity

This transaction will increase assets and equity be $180 each.
