Perhaps the greatest aspect of the Great Awakening in terms of its foreshadowing of 20th century reforms was that of its stance on abolition (and subsequently the rights of African-Americans) and women's rights. These ideals were spread through America in all walks of life long before mainstream rights for African-Americans were even considered a possibility. <span />
The context of "in our own car" and "in the state of Louisiana" isn't necessary for the readers. It just becomes excessive words that hinder the reader from a smooth read.
