<em>A Shogun</em> ( general ) is a military ruler appointed by the Emperor. Their most distinguished feature is their physical strength. They were also  the highest class in the noble class in feudal Japan. The last shogun was called <em>Yokugawa Yoshonobu</em>. The shoguns were ruling feudal Japan till their position was abolished at the beginning of the Meiji period.
