Cristovão Colombo can be considered a hero by the Spanish people, because it made possible the expansion of the Spanish empire when finding the American continent and in this continent appeared several colonies, that generally riches the Spanish crown . However, some people of America consider him a villain, because the expansion of the Spanish empire, decimated a very large number of natives, brought to the new continent many diseases, forced people into slavery and provoked a great cultural loss in this region.  Thus, in order to decide whether he was a villain or a hero, it is necessary to know which point of view to consider, however, one can not deny his contributions in cartography, it has allowed a great advance in navigations.
