Answer:

a. the solution set is {-2, 20}

b. 2*x - 30 = 10 or 4*x + 10 = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

a.  Given the system:

x - 15 = 5   or  2*x + 5 = 1

The solution for the first part is:

x - 15 = 5

x - 15 + 15 = 5 + 15

x  = 20

The solution for the second part is:

2*x + 5 = 1

2*x + 5 - 5 = 1 - 5

2*x = -4

x = -4/2

x = -2

So the solution set is {-2, 20}, see the picture attached.

b. If you multiply both sides of the equations of the system by a constant,  like 2, you will get a new system with the same solution as the original.

2*(x - 15) = 2*5

2*x - 30 = 10

2*(2*x + 5) = 2*1

4*x + 10 = 2

Then, the new system is:

2*x - 30 = 10 or 4*x + 10 = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

x-15=5

2x+5=1

x=5+15\\\Rightarrow x=20

2x=1-5\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{-4}{2}\\\Rightarrow x=-2

The two equations are lines on the x axis and they do not intersect hence they have no solution.

Any other parallel lines will have no solution

For example

y-10=4\\\Rightarrow y=14

y+\frac{3}{4}=25\\\Rightarrow y=25-\frac{3}{4}\\\Rightarrow y=24.25

The answer is No Solution because you get 3x + 9 = 3x + 9 which when you subtract 3x with 3x you would get No Solution.

How can you prove that corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent?
maksim [4K]

Answer:

You can tell by using the degrees of the angles and the lengths of the sides, congruent triangles will have the same angle measures and same side lengths where as similar triangles will have the same angle measures but different side lengths.

Two stores have the same stakeboard on the sale. The original price of the skate board is 200$.at the store AAA,its on sale for
erastova [34]

The BBB store is more affordable than the AAA store.

Considering the skateboard's initial purchase price = 200$

The store's AAA discount is 30% off during sales.

So the price of the skateboard on sale is

= 200 - 30% (original price)

= 200 - (30/100 *200)

= 200 - (60)

=. 140

Now the store AAA has a reward coupon to take an additional discount of 20% offer while purchasing then

= 140 - (20% of 140)

= 140 - (20/100 *140)

= 140 - (28)

= 112

The skateboard's purchase price in the store AAA is 112$

Given the skateboard at the store, BBB is on sale for 50% as

= 200 - (50% of original price)

= 200 - (50/100 * 200)

= 200 - 100

= 100

The skateboard's purchase price in the store BBB is 100$

Hence, By comparing the two stores we conclude that store BBB is better than store AAA.
