This pamphlet was published by the US Congress. Do you think Americans in 1949 felt this was a trustworthy source
Vesnalui [34]

Hi. You did not submit the pamphlet this question refers to, which makes it difficult for this question to be answered. However, I will try to help you as best I can.

As the National Congress is a political authority, made up of people who must be committed to the truth and accurate reporting of facts, Americans are likely to see a pamphlet published by Congress as a reliable source of information. The pamphlet can be considered credible if it is a political matter that has been drafted by a reputable and appropriate political group such as the national congress.

False

Explanation:

Children as young four were employed in the factories and mines. They were the labour of choice manufacturing during the early phases of industrial revolution.

Child workers were employed in the unskilled work. Such work was boring, repetitive and tiring. Children used to spend all day cleaning fluff form the machines and tying ends of cotton. Their welfare was dependant on the employer.

Their productivity was almost equal to an adult but they were paid much less, their size was also an advantage. Young children were employed in mines and factories, in tunnels they could crawl into places where  it was not possible for an adult

In cotton mills they were used for various tasks,  they helped the blenders to mix the Cotton from the bales, fetching and carrying cotton baskets and bobbins from room to room, Carrying pails of water from the well to the spinning rooms and to keep the floor damp to prevent the thread from braking.

How did Southern landowners view African Americans in the South during Reconstruction?
alexandr402 [8]

Answer:

During the Reconstruction period of 1865–1877, federal law provided civil rights protection in the U.S. South for freedmen, the African Americans who had formerly been slaves. In the 1870s, Democrats gradually returned to power in the Southern states, sometimes as a result of elections in which paramilitary groups intimidated opponents, attacking blacks or preventing them from voting. Gubernatorial elections were close and disputed in Louisiana for years, with extreme violence being unleashed during the campaigns. In 1877, a national compromise to gain Southern support in the presidential election resulted in the last of the federal troops being withdrawn from the South. White Democrats had regained political power in every Southern state. These conservative, white, Democratic Redeemer governments legislated Jim Crow laws, which segregated black people from the white population, and upheld them constitutionally as “separate but equal” rights.
