Plug it into the distance formula.
d= (sqrt) (x2-x1)^2 +(y2-y1)^2
d= (sqrt) (17-17)^2 + (33-(-21)^2
d=(sqrt) (0)^2 + (33 +21)^2
d= (sqrt) (54)^2
d= (sqrt) 2916
d=54
The distance is 54 units.
I hope this helps!

Basically, shift each coordinate one unit to the right (one X over)
You will have to predict the points a little
There are 5280 feet in a mile:
5280ft/mi
When using proportions to solve for unknown quantities, you need to keep the same units on the same side. This means keep "ft" on the top side and "mi" on the bottom side.
I would go with the second choice.
